On a Hollywood motion picture shoot you will never see a light on a C-stand. The base diameter is too small, and therefore easier to tip-over. WebC-stands are sturdier than normal folding stands. The shape of the legs also allows you to use sandbags more effectively. Compared to some other stands, c-stands are heavy and can be awkward to transport, but you don’t have to deal with pesky on-set disasters that end up with broken gear, injuries, or lawsuits.
